LOL, that’s what Jessie calls what I watch sometimes: “TV for sleepies” — as in programs so boring they put you to sleep? LOL
What can I say? I have pretty selective tastes when it comes to what shows I watch. I love CSI and all of the Law and Order series. But most of the time you’ll find me watching something on the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, or the History Channel. I can’t help it, they show cool (and yet educational) stuff!
The Discovery Channel has a show I’ve recently discovered called “How It’s Made” where you’re shown how all kinds of things are made as well as any historical snippings. For instance, I watched one yesterday that gave some background into how grain-based alcohols are made and when/how they were discovered. I watched one last night showing how cola is bottled, suits of armor are made, and how makeup mirrors are made.
Yeah, yeah, I know … not exactly the most exciting stuff. But sometimes I do run across something really neat on these “snooze tv” shows. ;)

I had forgotten how cool PBS was until just the other night. I came across a nature show on there where they were somewhere in Africa. They showed these HUGE crocodiles that would lie in wait until these gazelle came along. At just the right time, the croc would spring to life and take the gazelle down with one fell swoop. It didn’t even look like the gazelle knew what hit him. It was an impressive display of raw power.

hehehe I love animal shows! :)
I can remember being so excited when the Discovery Channel started, because at the time that’s ALL that it was! :D

I really dig that “How It’s Made” show. The host voice has some painful puns – yes, ones that make even me cringe. :) I also like the one show “It Takes a Thief” and “Deadliest Catch”. Discovery is a staple of my TV diet now…
