Remember some of that furniture I was looking at? I was browsing the Powell furniture site, and was admiring the plant stand (down at the bottom) and thought to myself, “Hey, I can do that!”

I used to love to buy old furniture from antique stores and yard sales and fix it up, paint and decorate them in my spare time. I’ve a refurnished coffee table and an overstuffed chair that I had done years ago. My mother has an old plant stand that I decorated for her years ago — it was painted white, with a black and white checkerboard on top. I painted vines going up and around all four legs and a handful of blooms on top of the checkerboard design.

Yeah … that’s definitely something I want to pick back up this summer — painting. :)
