Just a quickie post to let everyone know that we’re back. Unfortunately I have spent the last 2 days of our honeymoon/vacation sick, so I won’t be posting the pending novella of the “wedding what’s and who’s” and other happenings as I had originally planned. BUT I do hope to do this within the next few days … just let me recover from my “vacation” (and this damned cold) first! ;)
That said, I will leave you guys with this:
- Driving around in Florida then coming back to Birmingham left me with a real appreciation of how nice their road systems really are — and re-enforced the notion that ours SUCK ASS!
- It’s nice to have “normal” cable again — the channel selections in the Disney resort sucked some serious ass. That’s ok though, we were rarely in the room long enough to watch much of anything (but I seriously missed my football!).
- If going from Alabama to Florida, don’t forget to fill up BEFORE crossing the state line — gas jumped up nearly $.50/gallon once we entered “the Sunshine State”! (I guess they have to pay for those nice roads SOMEHOW … ;P)
- Apparently Floridians don’t like sweetened iced tea, or not enough visitors ask for it. Freakin’ NOBODY in Florida (that we visited anyways) had any sweet tea! I seriously had to stick to fruit juice (hardly anyone had anything other than orange — which I hate!!!) and water. I was SO happy to get out of there, as far as eating goes, just so I could find a place that actually *HAD* sweet iced tea!!!

1. Welcome back!
2. Congratulations to both of you!
3. Who watches *TV*, much less football, on their honeymoon?????
4. I’m a Californian, and even *I* know what sweet tea is! Clearly those Floridians need sum sk00lin’!
Rick
Glad you’re back safe and sound…and congratulations to both of you.
You did see what Oregon State did to Cal last week, didn’t you? I see Cal lost again today. What a crazy season this is turning out to be.
Doc
Welcome back! :)
No football? That’s unpossible! You can’t not have football – especially in the South.
*Hugs*

“3. Who watches *TV*, much less football, on their honeymoon?????”
It’s a “Southern Thing” … and I lub my football! ;)
“4. I’m a Californian, and even *I* know what sweet tea is! Clearly those Floridians need sum sk00lin’!”
LOL! For real! I’m glad to be home though … got me a whole gallon of sweet tea made and am enjoying the <you know what> out of it! ;)
@Rick: “Glad you’re back safe and sound…and congratulations to both of you.”
Thank you. :D

Ouch! Sorry to hear that :(
Jim feels ya there … FSU started out pretty good last night but blew it to Miami. Bama looked pretty good though! (outside of a few penalties that gave the Vols more points than they deserved!!)

LOL, thanks Doc … you know it!!!

Glad you had a good trip and sorry I missed the wedding. I do miss the quality roads in FL. I guess you were looking in the wrong places because there is sweet tea all over FL with it only getting scarce as you enter South Florida. My Vols stunk up the field in that game this weekend. It was embarassing to watch.

We missed ya, Jim was looking forward to meeting the “honorary chick” in my group! ;)
re: tea – yeah, I’d guess so! Though absolutely NONE of the Disney places had any. We did encounter one restaurant just outside of Orlando that had sweet tea, but it tasted horrible … and I would have called it “sweet” ;P

Oh God, that’s right … you’re one of those awful UT fans!
Ew! Stay away with your Volunteer Cooties! ;)
hehehehe…

No sweet tea?
It’s those damn Yankee invaders taking over.
