Jess and I attended Jeremy and Christy’s baby shower yesterday and had a really good time. I managed to snap off a few really cute pictures (set linked below). I think Jessie had a better time than I did because there was a little girl there about her age so she didn’t feel quite so out of place. :)

It felt good to get out for a bit and do something NOT wedding related, though it surprised me how many of my relatives had absolutely no idea that Jim and I were getting married in October. That tells me how little my folks tells the rest of the family about us.

I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised considering I’m back to being the “black sheep” of the family again.

My mom did volunteer to help out with the food for the reception though, so that will help out some. She and Grandmother made a big deal though out of that Jim and I “shouldn’t have to hire someone to cook for the reception” — which we aren’t, we are pretty much doing everything ourselves, just as we have done everything else. DUH! :roll:

Anyways, overall it was a good day. We talked luggage sets, wedding plans, vacationing, food, and everything under the sun pretty much. I filled up the card in my camera plus managed to snap off a few shots on my phone before we left the church … not bad for a ‘puny camera phone.’ I’m still playing with the settings, but I’ve even used it to copy down a recipe to post to my cooking site. :mrgreen:
