A month or so ago, Jim bought one of those “all-in-one” printers. It’s an Epson RX 580. I wasn’t too sure how I’d like it at first but I have to admit that now I think I’d find it hard to live without!
Jim’s hooked it up to a Hawking print server that he had lying around so that we could access it via the network. Though, at first I had a hell of a time printing to it … it kept randomly “losing” jobs in the print queue. After fiddling with my settings for a while, I told Jim what was happening and he fiddled with my settings for a while (LOL!) then went to play around with the router and then the print server. After unplugging and plugging a few network cables, he found that the one connected to the print server was missing that little bit of plastic (a “clip” I guess it’s called?) that held it in the port. So he cut a new cable and I was good to go.
Lesson learned: always check your cables! LOL :)

I miss having an all-in-one printer.

Oh god, you’re talking about one of those old “clip on” LPT cables aren’t you? haven’t seen one of those in ages (takes me back to my desktop support days).
If one clip breaks, you can bet the cable will come of at the slightestmovement.
