Bleh I haven’t updated in a while. Right now my two braincells aren’t speaking to each other, so I’ll just make this quick:

Work is going well. There’s some manual processes that I’m looking to streamline or automate altogether, so getting to dive into scripting of course makes me giddy. I love creating things. :)

Remember how prior to COVID I was taking singing lessons? That had stopped due to all the madness, but I’m to a place where I can start attending again. Hooray for me! I’m so out of tune/practice, it’s not even funny. Plus having asthma means I can’t hold notes as long as I used to either. Having to take in a quick breath while belting is just embarrassing to me. Nevermind that it’s not a huge deal and most people do it too, but I used to have really strong lungs. (and also I’m hard on myself because I remember how I used to sound)

OH! My birthday gift to myself was delayed, but it finally came in: Logitech Blue Yeti Premium Mic. I haven’t had a decent mic in … er … ever?

My kid suggested I stream. Yeah, y’all don’t need to see my nub ass dying in PVP all the time. (not that I play a whole lot anymore, esp with these migraines, but it’s a nice escape some weekends) I did finally breakdown and get Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and am. Loving. It!

I had a pleasant birthday dinner with my folks. My brother surprised me and brought my nephews, who I hadn’t seen in forever, so that was the best present ever. Got to talk to my kid for a little bit.

I’ve been talking to a couple of folks here at work who run Plex servers and getting some tips for if/when I ever move it off of the nVidia ShieldTV device. I had eyed a NAS at the time, and one of my teammates runs his on a QNAP. I may just buy a small barebones box and beef it up instead. It’s been forever since I’ve actually built a machine from scratch.

That may have to be my Christmas to myself.

Until then I’m looking at maybe a couple of trips, maybe a couple of concerts? We’ll see …
