I had meant to post this last week but got side-tracked … a lot. :)
… Time off …
I’m trying to take moments and enjoy happiness where I can, so in line with this I took a whole week off work, and did as little as possible. It was glorious. And I’ll tell you what, I haven’t slept better in AGES! It wasn’t until the Sunday night before I was supposed to start back at work that I found myself having trouble sleeping. I’m told that’s stress. Blurgh.
I spent my time off building a handful of websites, which was fun. Mostly fanlistings, and I’m of course waiting for them to be approved by TFL before they’ll be public. I also spent some time playing around with a webring project that I will probably take live this weekend. It’s based on this one by Jack McDade.
… Re-discovering old favorites …
I discovered the Peacock streaming service, which I’m told is owned by NBC. Imagine my delight when I found that all 12 seasons of ‘Murder, She Wrote’ were on there and immediately watchable. FOR FREE. I have fond memories of watching this show with my grandmother when I was little, and I have always loved Angela Lansbury. I spent a lot of my downtime re-watching this childhood favorite. :)
… Spending time with loved ones …
I rode out Saturday morning and had breakfast with a friend. It felt nice to get out of the house for a bit, and have a little human contact. My anxiety has been playing up a LOT lately, and I needed a bit of grounding. That really helped!
The not-so-fun:
Unfortunately my time off wasn’t ALL roses, but I made the best of what I could. My A/C went out on me one day, so I had to deal with that. The issue turned out to be the thermostat, so that had to be replaced, which wasn’t covered by my maintenance contract, so I was out 200 bucks. But considering the age of the device, I guess it could have been worse!
Presents from Delta: RAIN PAIN! My headaches have been at all-time highs lately due to allergies and waves of rain from hurricane Delta. (Gee, thanks!) I’ve been on the Aimovig shots now for a solid 6 months and I can tell that they ARE helping, but unfortunately it’s not 100%. I’m still keeping a migraine diary, and hooboy it’s been full the last couple of months. :(
I also had to deal with a couple days of internet outage, which sucks ass when everything depends on internet now. (tv, movies, gaming, etc.) I guess I should’ve been thankful I was off and not trying to work, but still sucked. Thankfully Spectrum had services restored within a few hours, but meh.
I did not get to spend any of my time with the love interest. He’s been sick and has a hectic work schedule, so we’ve kind of missed each other the last few weeks. Suck. :(
I got my wedding invitation from my brother and his new fiancee. BUT that’s a huge can of worms that I am not opening today. Y’all there’s been so much family drama I don’t even want to get started. I’ve tried my best to stay out of things and just sit on the sidelines with my lawn chair and popcorn. Seriously.
BUT!
The best news I received just this week: my kiddo is coming back to Bama! It’s to Mobile instead of Birmingham, but hey, that’s a smaller trip than cross-country, so I’m thrilled to bits about that! :)
I hope everyone is safe. I’m here if y’all need me.
