It’s the time of year again. Today is World Backup Day. Did you know this? I happened upon this holiday information while reading a post a couple of years ago on a Domino/Notes blog that I follow. I’ve gotten better at keeping regular backups over the past couple of years but still sometimes don’t backup as often as I really should.
We all really should regularly make backups of anything we can’t afford to lose. If you’re new to this concept, the World Backup Day site sums it up thusly:
What is backup?
A backup is a second copy of all your important files — for example, your family photos, home videos, documents and emails. Instead of storing it all in one place (like your computer), you keep another copy of everything somewhere safe.
Since my discovery two years ago, I’ve added this holiday to the Geek Calendar. Hat tip to Chris Miller for sharing.
Go backup your stuff, people! :)
