For years, I’ve shopped at GameStop for various things: games, Aion time (now NCoin) cards, toys collectibles, etc. I’ve been a member of their PowerUp Rewards program for a few years and had been letting the reward points just sit on my account. Every once in a while, I’ll get one of their newsletters with a reward I like, so I’ll login and redeem some points for it. Over the years I’ve gotten various Star Wars items, a Godzilla tshirt, a Harley Quinn and Joker keychain set, … mostly little stuff.
A couple weeks ago I received a newsletter and the following phrase immediately caught my attention:
“Batman Hooded Backpack”
I hurriedly clicked the link to see this:
Be-still my fangirl heart, I had enough points to get it!
I happily redeemed the necessary 30,000 points. One week later (yesterday), I received a package from UPS. I opened it thinking “Please don’t suck, please don’t suck, please don’t suck, …” because you know sometimes free stuff is cheaply made stuff and even though my previous rewards had been decent quality, you just never know for certain until you have it in your hands and can actually FEEL the item.
Anyways! I was not disappointed. It features a hood and cape, which both can fold and tuck into the top pocket of the backpack.
I paraded around the department showing it to my coworkers. My boss and one coworker both made the same comment … “You’ll be easy to find this year at Lotusphere!” (now IBM Connect IBM ConnectED)
I think it was a smart choice. What do y’all think? :)
