There’s a house in Gardendale that I have loved ever since it was built and apparently this weekend it went up on the market. (or rather, a Remax sign went up in their yard) I seriously doubt it will stay on the market long enough for us to raise the money to afford it, but if I had my choice of any house it would be that one. It has a huge yard in front and back, both of which are fenced in. I haven’t been inside the house yet, but I’m toying around with attending the open house whenever it is just to see what the inside looks like. Jim and I have been looking at various houses for the last few months to get an idea of what we like, from everything from room layouts to cabinet hardware (I’m a big fan of cherry, myself … Jim likes oak).
Well, at least I can keep looking and keep dreaming … considering how new the house is, and how long the previous tenants lived there, maybe the new owners will move on quickly as well. *hopeful*

I sure do hope that ya get what ya want Missy Nicki (I call all of my lady-folk readers Missy something or anuther). I’m sure realize it already, but whatever you do, stay away from “sub-prime” home loans if at all possible. A lotta folks are losing their homes because they can’t pay the fiddler when the interest rate increases….which it does rapidly and frequently….and thanks for stoppin by the Cookshack and leaving nice comments as often as ya do…I preciates it!

Thank you, Cookie. We’re probably going to get a loan through the VA (Jim was in the Army). I know all about the interest rate thing … neither of our credit is outstanding, but I do know what we can and can’t afford which is why we are saving for a sizable down payment first.
