An old buddy of mine IM’d me asking if I knew an alternate to Crystal Reports or any other kind of reporting software (he’s a VB coder). Personally, I’ve had limited exposure to several packages, including Crystal Reports and JReports, and thought they were ok, and I know Oracle’s XML Publisher is supposed to be pretty good too. He’s not too particular and would prefer something open source — “relatively cheap is good, free is better.”

Any suggestions? :)
