I thought I’d kick off the holiday weekend a little early with a green themed look for St. Patty’s. :)
Got a busy weekend planned. It’s supposed to be nice out, so I suppose Jim will be hitting the golf course — which is a good thing because he needs to get out of the house (and out of my hair) more! :) My Ladies Night Out Meetup group is meeting tomorrow night to celebrate the holiday, and I’m so looking forward to that.
Psssssst, hey T — you coming? ;)
Sunday Jessie and I are supposed to go shopping, but I’m not so sure that’s going to happen now. She’s been acting up for her mom lately, and she was giving me attitude last night because I was getting on to her for not studying for a test she’d had. The child got a *20* on a math test and was upset because I was lecturing her. Luckily for her, she has a very sweet teacher who’s giving a make-up test today to give many students a chance to bring up their grades. I couldn’t believe Jessie scored so low, math is usually one of her best subjects … but then again, her study habits have left something to be desired this year and it’s to the point to where if Jim or I don’t stay on her, she won’t study or do her homework. (Her mother would rather “let her flunk if that’s what she wants.”)
I told Jessie this morning that if her grades and behavior don’t start improving, she can forget going to T’town with me next month for the Alabama A-Day Game, and boooooyyyyyy if she didn’t give me the dirtiest look she could muster! LOL I told her to check her attitude because she was already on thin ice. *shakes head*
So if we don’t go shopping Sunday, I guess we’ll be doing more cleaning. Not that I mind, hehe. I’ve got a TON of stuff sitting out for Hannah Home and will need to get that stuff carted out of here anyways. And besides, I think Little Miss Attitude needs a weekend of work to remind her why she should stay on my good side. Her mother constantly complains about her being lazy, but never does anything about it. Jessie doesn’t do ANY chores or anything at her house, but she’ll work over here. When I spoke to her earlier this week, she started complaining again and I said, “Then put her little butt to work! I think you’ll find that she’ll straighten up in a hurry, but you have to stick with it and not give in after an hour and tell her she can go watch cartoons.” (which I’m told is what she does … honestly! And the woman wonders why that child behaves the way she does for her!)
Anyways, I’m was really looking forward to another Meetup group gathering next week. The B’ham and Rocket City Bloggers are meeting Wednesday in Huntsville, but unfortunately I have somewhere I have to be very early the next morning so I won’t be attending. That’s a LONG drive for me. :( (Really sucks too, because I was *really* looking forward to meeting several of the members whose blogs I read pretty regularly.)
Oh well, another time maybe …
I’m probably going to take it pretty easy today and work some more on my Virb profile, maybe surf around mindlessly for a bit. StumbleUpon is a GREAT time waster, LOL! For instance, I have several profiles with home shopping sites that I’ve bookmarked. I was going through one of them earlier this week and stumbled upon one named Orlando Pool Homes. Hey, works for me … Jim wants to move back to Florida, and Jessie (upon seeing the pools) thought it was a good idea too. LOL! There’s some really pretty houses in there … alas, I need a new job first. :P

We need to have our next down down in your neck of the woods. Maybe rotate between Birmingham and Huntsville. I’ll have to suggest that to Alabama Improper.

That would be so awesome. Thank you! :)

ah yes, Paddy’s.
Wish i could’ve been there in Dublin tomorrow, last year was good fun.
This also means that in the Kingdom of Loathing, it’s probably St. Sneaky Pete’s day!
if you wanna know what i’m talking about, check out http://www.kingdomofloathing.com, i used to play it a lot (web based MMORPG taking the piss out of all “regular” MMORPG games).
I wonder if the green beer’s been re-introduced as well.
Nicki
KoL – I’ve heard of that! One of the girl gamer feeds I read has mentioned it a few times…
re: green beer – it’s big here. All of the bars/pubs and many restaurants will be serving it. :D
I don’t do beer anymore, but whatever I will be drinking will most certainly be green! ;)
