I ran across this in The Birmingham News:
City of Montgomery ditches `holiday’ label for Christmas parade

The Associated Press / Montgomery Advertiser, http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.comMONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The city of Montgomery isn’t having a holiday parade this year — it’s going to be a Christmas parade.
Mayor Bobby Bright has decided to rename the celebration because of complaints he heard last year over it being dubbed a “Holiday Parade.” The “holiday” name was adopted in 2001 when the parade returned from a seven-year hiatus.
“We heard from a lot of people who wanted the parade to be called the Christmas Parade,” said Michael Briddell, an aide to Bright. “So that’s what we are doing.”
The pastor of Eastdale Baptist Church was pleased with Bright’s decision.
“I applaud the mayor for doing the right thing,” said J.T. Wright. “Stepping away from Christmas is a move away from honoring Christ in what we do.”
Rabbi Kenneth Segel, spiritual leader of Temple Beth Or, said he doesn’t have a problem with the city having a Christmas parade.
“To ask our neighbors to shut off their colored lights or put away their manger scenes to avoid damaging sensitive psyches is offensive,” said Segel, who thinks it is important to respect the beliefs of others. “Jews who are grounded in their faith cannot be threatened by the practice of another religion.”

People of other faiths would do well to adopt that philosphy! (IMO)
Doc
I like that they’re calling it what it is now. I’ve found myself calling the hollandaise by this name rather than holidays. Not sure where that started but it’s cute. (and I do cute very well!)
Merry Christmas! (Yeah, I know, but I’ll be in hospital on Thanksgiving)

Why will you be in the hospital?
Doc
Knee replacement. Long story short – a box of routers fell and clobbered my knee and it’s pretty well damaged beyond use. The doc said the replacement will be made of titanium and should last a lifetime. Going to be fun with that in airports I’m sure. :)
