There is an individual who has been a large part of my life; a man by the name of Reggie Swain. Many called him “Kukeman” or “Mr. Nice Nasty”. He often said “I’m a big chocolate chip in the cookie of life” … I called him my best friend.

Reggie is someone very dear to my heart. Over 10 years ago he and I met at MACESS, a software company in Birmingham. Sitting directly across from his cubicle, we hit it off immediately and quickly became inseparable. For many years, he was the older brother I never had — and sometimes never wanted. *g*

During a rough patch of my life, he would leave notes of encouragement and small tips intended for one to better him/herself. I had always valued his advice.

This is one of those scraps … I’ve kept it all of these years and would like to share it:

• Think of one thing that you can do to enjoy yourself each day. Leave an hour or two each day.
• Go outside to lunch 3 times a week. DO NOT GO ALONE!
