I voted this morning before heading to work. Wasn’t as big a deal as everyone makes it out to be. Yeah, the place was packed, but I waited until about 8 am to go in (let the rush hour crowd leave) and was in and out in 15 minutes. Actually, the hard part was getting in and out of the Civic Center parking lot. It seems many people forget how to drive (and park) when it rains. :P
I called my mom earlier to check on her, and she told me that my brother was in Florida campaigning this past weekend. Jeremy just recently finished law school and has been working for Congressman (AL-D) Artur Davis. I got the chance to meet him a while back, and he’s a nice enough and very likeable guy, I just don’t agree with his views/policies.
Anyways, it seems Jeremy spent the weekend speaking with/for VP candidate John Edwards in Pensacola. Mom says that he got to get on stage and speak for him for a few minutes, and I’m sure this is helping Jeremy get his career jump-started. I asked Mom to pass on to him that if he didn’t vote for Bush today he wouldn’t be getting a Christmas present from me and Jim. *grins* ;)
My Halloween weekend didn’t exactly go as planned. Jim is finally gettting over his cold, and now it’s found me. (ARGH!) Oh well, at least I’m armed with arsenal of medication for my sinuses. :)
We dressed up a bit, but didn’t go to the party on southside a friend was hosting. Jim still wasn’t feeling all that great, and I was still adjusting to my medication — not that I would have been able to do a whole lot anyways. I can’t drink while I’m taking this. :(
Oh well. We had Jessie Halloween night though. Jim’s ex had her all week and Saturday night; she dropped her off late Sunday afternoon, so she and I walked around the neighborhood trick-or-treating. Later that evening, we all went to the local 1st Baptist Church for a Halloween Carnival. (I forget what they called it, you know how the Baptists hate Halloween and other “heathen holidays”)
*rolls eyes*
I feel a bit groggy today. I have ached all over the past couple of days, but at least I’ve kept the cold at bay somewhat … I have no fever, so that’s a good sign for me. Moms aren’t allowed to be sick, don’tcha know! ;P~
